Wollaton
Welcome to Wollaton Class
In Wollaton, we value our knowledge rich topics and we view them as an important part of the pupil’s entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum. All of our topics provide the pupils with the opportunities to develop, extend skills and act as an opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas.
Through our topic work we aim to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, explore and create. As pupils progress through their work, they will practise skills to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of the topic.
The teaching and implementation of our work is based on the National Curriculum and linked to all subject areas to ensure a well-structured approach to teaching and learning.
Topic work is embedded throughout the weekly timetable and aims to develop the pupil’s knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the world around them.
In Wollaton class we promote a class ethos where students feel supported, nurtured and listened to. We embrace diversity and celebrate all students’ unique abilities and talents. Our ethos strives to promote an environment that is kind and respectful.
