Key Stage 1 and 2
Pupils in our primary classes access a cross curricular, topic based approach to learning. Learning opportunities in the four areas of need (Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Physical and/ or sensory development) run through the curriculum.
Cornerstones curriculum projects provide stimulating, engaging topics on which to structure learning. The topics are relevant and meaningful to the pupils, enabling then to put their knowledge into context whilst developing skills. Each class personalises the Cornerstones curriculum projects to meet the individual learning, sensory needs and interests of the class group.
In our primary classes there are two curriculum maps class teachers utilise to plan exciting and meaningful learning activities.
