Newstead

Newstead is one of our Primary Curriculum Stage 1 learning pathways. In Newstead we are following a bespoke sensory based learning curriculum.

We are a class of 8 learners, our youngest is 4 and eldest is 10.

In Newstead we have a multisensory approach to learning, we will be accessing a range of interactive activities within our learning experiences as a class.

 

Important Information

  • Beyond Bennerley is on a Tuesday morning, we have been accessing the community during our morning trips to different parks nearby. 
  • PE is on Thursdays – taught by Becki
  • Forest School is in Spring 1 (from January)
  • Outdoor learning- as part of our curriculum pathway we will be accessing learning activities outside; please send wellies, waterproofs, spare clothing to support this.

Newstead working hard on their ball skills in PE this half term. Rolling and stopping a ball, bouncing and catching a ball and throwing a ball at a target. Great work Newstead.

19/3/23 Our trip to the Lanes garden centre/farm

Friday 8th March. World Book Day and Mother’s Day card making!

All the staff dressed up as “Goldilocks and the three bears” characters. We had a sensory story full of lots of porridge, then we made our own!

Later we made made some lovely cards for Mother’s Day. 

Our new topic is 'Are eggs alive?'

Newstead’s start to Spring 1 term

Newstead have had a great start to the Spring term, we have been counting & sorting, continuing with our outdoor learning, matching numbers, exploring roles of police officers, recognizing letters in our names and exploring feelings through facial expressions.

Our new topic is 'Will you read me a story?'
