Chatsworth
Welcome to Chatsworth Class
Chatsworth class is a mixed Key Stage 2/3 group of young people who love learning new things together. We value kindness and respect and work as a team to develop positive relationships with others, through varied experiences both within school and in the wider community.
Our Curriculum
We offer a programme of learning that reflects, nurtures and respects the individual needs of our children. Our pupils work on personal learning goals to support their individual needs and these are assessed across the school day. We work closely with our children, parents and other professionals to set targets that are appropriate to each individual and family. We regularly take our learning outdoors to explore learning in different environments where we can practise and apply knowledge. We utilise our outside spaces, including the Forest School and garden area, to nurture the practical learning, emotional well being and sensory needs of our students and to encourage to engage in play and exploration and social interaction.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Chatsworth class will explore many exciting topics as part of the Stage 2 curriculum. Learning experiences are carefully designed to support communication, engagement and interaction alongside the development of knowledge and skills.
The topics for this school year are:
- Autumn 1: Me and My Memories (History focus)
- Autumn 2: Make Some Noise (Music focus)
- Spring 1: Let’s Get Fit (PE focus)
- Spring 2: Exploring our Neighbourhood (History focus)
- Summer 1: Nature Detectives (Science focus)
- Summer 2: Colourful Carnivals (Music focus)
Important Information
- PE lessons take place on Thursday morning – please send a PE kit.
- Forest School will take place on a Tuesday morning in the Autumn Term. Please send your child to school in appropriate outdoor clothing/shoes/wellies with uniform to change into afterwards.
- ‘Beyond Bennerley’ community visits and activities will take place on Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. We will let you know details in advance of any visits.

Forest school - we made toast on the fire 🍞🔥
In music this morning we learnt nursery rhymes and sang them in a group ☺️
Active maths with Joe this morning. We counted how many cones we had knocked down!
For our morning task this morning we used apples to paint :)
Forest School- This week in forest school we explored the rain, rescued some frogs, helped Becky with the fire ready to make some smores. We had so much fun!!

Today in English we looked around our playground for the missing pages to our paper dolls story and then put them in order :)
In forest school today we learnt how to spiral an apple and we also helped Becky harvest the vegetables we grew down in forest school!
In English we have been learning about the book paper dolls. We had fun making our own paper dolls :)
Learning about our bodies in science 🩻🦠
In science we learnt about our senses and smelt lots of different spices and listen to lots of different noises!
