Chatsworth Staff

Welcome to Chatsworth Class!
Chatsworth Class is part of Key Stage 4 at Bennerley Fields School. In our class, we focus on academic progress, developing independence, and preparing for life beyond school as part of the post-16 transition. Our dedicated and experienced staff team is skilled in supporting the wide range of needs within the group, ensuring every pupil can thrive.
We begin each day with reading activities, a maths challenge, and a structured discussion around current events, using Newsround to help spark conversation and build awareness of the wider world.
Key Stage 4 offers plenty of opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. Pupils regularly access the local community to build independence skills and explore future career options. As part of our careers programme, pupils are introduced to real-world workplaces, supported by a network of fantastic local employers who are enthusiastic about engaging with our school.
Alongside core subjects and topic work, we run Beyond Bennerley sessions – a practical, life-skills strand of the curriculum that takes learning into the community. This year’s focus areas include Time Management, Friendships & Relationships, Communication, Personal Safety, and Travel. We’ll be visiting shops, cafés, and libraries to give pupils meaningful, hands-on experiences that build independence and confidence.
Later in the year, pupils will take part in our exciting Enterprise Scheme. They'll design their own products, set up small businesses, and work as a team to sell their creations at our summer Enterprise Marketplace event. It’s a fantastic chance for pupils to apply what they’ve learned and develop skills they’ll use in the world of work.
Important Information
PE takes place on Tuesday mornings. Please ensure your child’s kit is clearly labelled and ready to return to school at the start of each term so it can be kept on their peg.
In the summer term, pupils will take part in Forest School sessions. We’ll share details about the kit needed for this closer to the time.
You can keep up to date with what we’ve been learning by checking the school’s Facebook page and our class webpage. In Key Stage 4, we encourage pupils to take more ownership by discussing their school day with you. As a result, we send fewer regular email updates than in Key Stage 3, but please be assured that we will always contact you the same day if there is anything important to share.
If you need to get in touch, we check email before and after the school day. For anything urgent, please contact the school office via the main email address or by phone.
