Trent Class, encourage independence wherever possible. We support pupils through careful scaffolding of their learning and a gradual release of responsibility using the “I do, We do, You do” approach, helping pupils to develop confidence and essential life skills. we follow the Stage 2 Engagement pathway and deliver AQA units across the curriculum.

We strive to provide a warm, friendly, happy, and safe environment where all students feel valued, supported, and ready to learn. Our curriculum is kept fresh, relevant, and engaging, ensuring that learning remains meaningful and motivating for all pupils. Through adaptive teaching, we get to know pupils as individuals and tailor learning to their needs, interests, and abilities. We are responsive to pupils' progress and understanding, adjusting our teaching, resources, and level of challenge to ensure learning is engaging, accessible, and appropriately matched to each student's stage of development.

Autumn 1 2026

Trent class have settled into their new classroom and daily routines beautifully and are already enjoying a fantastic start to the term. Our topic, “Blast Off!”, has inspired lots of exciting learning opportunities, with pupils exploring a variety of space-themed sensory activities and resources. We have particularly enjoyed engaging with sensory stories linked to That’s Not My Rocket and Zoom to the Moon, which have helped bring our topic to life. The class has also been exploring different types of technology in and around the classroom, with interactive cause-and-effect games proving especially popular. These activities support communication, engagement and early technology skills while ensuring learning remains fun and motivating for everyone.
