In Wollaton Class, we believe that knowledge-rich topics are an essential part of every pupil’s entitlement to a broad, balanced and meaningful curriculum. Our topics are carefully designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity and provide opportunities for pupils to develop and extend their skills while expressing their own interests, ideas and opinions.
Through our topic-based learning, we aim to engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to explore, investigate and create. As pupils progress through each topic, they are encouraged to think critically, ask questions and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Our curriculum is carefully tailored to meet the individual needs, interests and strengths of our pupils. By making meaningful links across subject areas, we provide a well-structured and engaging learning experience that helps pupils make connections, develop key skills and apply their knowledge in a range of contexts.
Topic learning is embedded throughout our weekly timetable and plays a key role in developing pupils’ knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the wider world. We strive to create memorable learning experiences that foster independence, build confidence and nurture a lifelong love of learning.
At the heart of Wollaton Class is a supportive, nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil feels valued, listened to and encouraged to succeed. We celebrate diversity and recognise the unique strengths, talents and achievements of each individual. Guided by the Bennerley Attitudes, we promote kindness, respect and positive relationships, ensuring that all pupils feel safe, confident and proud to be part of our class community.
