Welcome to Buxton Class

Buxton Class focus on bringing learning to life through hands-on, sensory-based experiences. We believe that learning is most meaningful when it is active, engaging, and connected to the real world. Wherever possible, we extend our learning beyond the classroom and into the local community, helping pupils develop important knowledge, skills and confidence.

We are a Stage 2 class of 4 pupils on the engagement pathway. We use the TEACCH approach to provide a clear, structured learning environment that supports:

· Independence

· Skill development

· Understanding of routines and expectations

Pupils also learn in small groups, allowing them to develop interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with others.

Important Information

· PE: Thursday afternoons Please wear a PE kit on this day.

· Forest School: Spring 2, Tuesday afternoons Please provide your child with wellies and waterproofs each week so they can fully access outdoor learning.

· Beyond Bennerley: Monday afternoons Pupils will access the local community as part of their learning throughout some of the topics during the year.
