I'm married with two children and live in Chesterfield.

I used to teach 14-19 year olds in a special school but had to retire six years ago on grounds of ill health.

I am delighted to be a governor at Bennerley Fields as not only can I put my experience to some use, but I can also be part of a school that is clearly growing rapidly in strength and has a very exciting vision and future ahead of it.

Although I'm a co-opted governor I will happily discuss any concerns you may have about the school and, together with staff, will try to resolve any issues.

As a member of the local community I wanted to do something in my spare time that would not only benefit the community but also use my many years of experience working in business.

I have two children and love spending time in the great outdoors.

I report to the Governing Body on how the school is being managed and led. I meet regularly with Pauline Wensley our Chair, and all other Governors as they monitor specific parts of school performance.

I have been at Bennerley Fields School nearly 10 years now, teaching in KS3. I have been lead teacher for numeracy, but am now leading Literacy. I trained as a teacher of the deaf so, although now slightly rusty am still OK at sign language.

Out of school I have always been involved in Girl Guiding and have run a Brownie Unit local to me for 16 years. I am also on the Church council. As well as that I am kept busy with three grown children now just going or finishing at University in various parts of the country.

I have been staff governor for the last couple of years. After retiring at the end of last term I was given the opportunity to remain a governor. I welcomed keeping this link with the school as I have worked happily there for many years and this was a way of keeping in contact and supporting them in the exciting changes that are taking place.

I live in Long Eaton with my husband, who has also retired and two chickens. I have two children who have long since flown the nest, so we will be doing lots of travelling to see them in our retirement.

I enjoy walking, trying to keep fit and singing. I am not particularly good at but last January I joined the Rock Choir in Beeston and really enjoy singing with other people.

I look forward to continuing to work with the school and to see our community thrive.

I'm married with a six year old son who currently attends Bennerley Fields and I also love to travel with my family.
I became a Governor a year after my son started attending the school.

After seeing how amazing the school is and how much my son was learning and enjoying being there I wanted to give something back.

I am a self employed Bushcraft Instructor and Forest School Leader working predominantly with children and the majority of that work is with children who have additional needs.

Born, bred and growing up in Derbyshire, I returned to settle here in 1992.

My, increasingly close, ties with Bennerley Fields began in 2012 with supplying Bushcraft based Forest School provision for KS3 students. Now I also help out when available as a relief TA.
